TOWSON, Md. – The Neumann University Men's Soccer team took a trip to Maryland and suffered a 2-1 loss to non-conference rival Goucher College on Sunday afternoon.
The Gophers were able to strike first in the ninth minute of play, but the Knights responded well as
Jake Kuzmick scored his second goal of the season just two minutes to knot the game at one apiece. Both teams had their chances throughout the rest of the evenly played half, but the score remained the same through the break.
In the second half, Goucher asserted themselves offensively and finally broke through with the winning goal in the 71st minute. Overall, Neumann was outshot by a 14-8 margin, 8-4 on goal. Goucher also had five corner kicks to Neumann's four.
Kuzmick, in addition to his goal, had two total shots, to lead the Knights' attack.

Carson Metzger earned the start in goal and made six saves.
Neumann (1-2) will be back in action on Wednesday afternoon when the host their intra-county rivals, the Widener University Pride. The opening kick on Neumann's Turf Field is scheduled from 4:00 PM.
