Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Late Strike Leads Men’s Soccer to Victory

LANCASTER, Pa. – The Neumann University Men's Soccer team picked up a key non-conference win over Lancaster Bible College on Wednesday night by a final score of 2-1.

Although it was the Knights who controlled much of the play, it was the Chargers who got on the scoreboard first in the 37th minute. Neumann continued to push the pace and tilt the field in their favor throughout the first half, the Lancaster Bible maintained the lead.

The possession trend continued in favor of the Knights, and they were finally able to break through when Jason DiFilippo scored his first of the season, equalizing the match in the 78th minute. With 50 seconds remaining in the game, DiFIlippo poked the ball to the top of the eighteen-yard box, connecting with Chris Siemien who lifted home the game-winner for his first of the year.

Neumann took 16 shots to Lancaster Bible's five. The advantage in shots on goal was 10-2 and the Knights also took nine corner kicks, including seven in the second half. Luke Mejia led with three shots, two on goal. Seth Walker earned the win in goal with one save.

Neumann(2-3) will be back in action on Saturday afternoon when they host Delaware Valley University in a non-conference match. The game is scheduled for a 1:00 PM start.
