ST. DAVID'S, Pa. - The Neumann University men's soccer team battled to a hard-fought 1-1 draw at Eastern University in a non-conference match-up on Wednesday afternoon.
Each team had their chances to open the scoring in the opening half, but despite the shots on target for both squads, neither could find the back of the net. Both goals came towards the end of the game.
Vince Landis scored for Neumann in the 79th minute of play after a throw in by the Knights. The Eagles found the net with only five minutes left in the match. The remainder of the game was a back-and-forth battle between the two teams, but even with a last-minute opportunity for Neumann, the game stayed on equal footing.
Jake Kuzmick led the offense with four shots, three of them on goal.
Jon Zubert and
Eddie Proud had three shots each with one of Zubert's forcing a save.
Seth Walker got the start in goal and made one stop.
Neumann(2-3-1) will host Penn State Abington in another non-conference game on Saturday afternoon. The match will get started at 4:00 PM
