BALTIMORE, Md. – The Neumann University Women's Soccer team hit the road on Thursday afternoon and dealt a 5-0 shutout to Notre Dame of Maryland University.
The Knights dominated the first half of play and were able to strike in the 26th minute of action when
Catherine Miller took a
Morghan Stiles pass and fired it home for the 1-0 lead. Eight minutes later
Kaia Foss scored her first goal as a Knight off an assist from
Dylan Brown giving Neumann the lead of 2-0.
Miller struck again from another assist from Brown with 31 minutes remaining in the second half. Just under a minute later, Stiles found the back of the net for her first goal of the season. In the 72nd minute
Jaclyn Burmood, scored her first goal of the season making the score 5-0.
Alexis Navarro did not face a shot on her way to a shutout. The Knights put 31 shots towards the net, 14 coming on target. Miller and Stiles led the team with six shots each.
Anna Poehlmann and
Ebony Arvelo each had five shots.
Neumann (3-4-1) will be back in action at home on Saturday afternoon to face Penn State Brandywine. The game is scheduled for a 1:00 PM start.
