ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's tennis team picked up its first win of the fall season, defeating Eastern University 5-4 on Saturday afternoon.
The Eagles took two of the three doubles matched to open the afternoon. The duo of
Joe Troilo and
Anthony Carpinella won 8-1 at second doubles to give the Knights a point.
The Knights took four of the six singles matches en route to the win.
Jason Petrin took first singles 7-5, 6-2. Troilo won third singles 6-2, 6-1. Carpinella was victorious at fourth singles 6-4, 6-3 and the match was knotted at four.
For his first collegiate singles win,
Adam Barisa won fifth single 7-5, 6-3 to give Neumann the 5-4 match win.
Neumann (1-1) will host Carin on Tuesday afternoon beginning at 3:30 PM.
