ASTON, PA. – The Neumann University Men's Soccer team were dealt a 1-0 loss at the hands of the Rutgers-Camden Scarlet Raptors their home-opener on Tuesday night.
In the first half, Rutgers-Camden controlled possession for most of play, but the Neumann defense, only allowed four shots, two on goal, leading to a scoreless first 45 minutes. In the 47
th minute, on a breakaway, the Scarlet Raptors broke through and took the lead.
From there, the Knights slowly took control of the pace of play but never could find an equalizer, even though they had their chances. Throughout the second half, Neumann out-shot Rutgers-Camden 10-2, and had four shots on goal.
Luke Mejia led the attack with five shots, two on goal.
Vince Landis also had two shots on goal with
Gianni Smith attempting two shots.
Seth Walker made two saves in goal.
Neumann(1-1) will be back on action on Saturday when they take to the road against the Stevenson University Mustangs. The game is scheduled for a 4:00 PM start.
