Women’s Hockey Drops UCHC Contest to King’s

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's hockey team suffered a 3-1 loss at the hands of their United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) rivals, King's College, on Saturday afternoon.

The only goal in the first 20 minute period was put together by King's at the 11:37 mark, giving them a 1-0 lead. With 11:44 left in the second, Jamiyah Alexander converted on a breakaway chance for her team-leading ninth goal of the season. The tie was short-lived as the Monarchs responded just 12 seconds later to retake the lead. King's put the game away in the third with a goal at the 13:21 mark.

Alexander and Gia Santorello peppered the cage with a team-leading five shots on goal. Kaila Booth and Meg Landman each took four shots on goal. Ella Sciborski made 25 saves in the effort.

Neumann (4-13-2, 0-12-2 UCHC) will return to action on Friday when they host another UCHC rival, Manhattanville College. The opening face-off from the IceWorks Skating Complex is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
