HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – The Neumann University women's basketball team dropped a 79-68 game at Centenary University on Friday afternoon in an Atlantic East Conference match-up.
Lauren Klieber led the Knights, scoring 29 points.
Aubrie Breisblatt added 16 points while
Emily DuPont netted nine.
The first three quarters remained close. Midway through the third quarter, Centenary held a six-point advantage, 51-45. The Knights then went on a 10-4 run and a three-pointer by
Lindsay Holden tied the game at 55. Klieber hit a layup ad Neumann took a 57-55 lead heading into the final quarter.
The Cyclones came out and scored the first seven points of the fourth quarter for a 62-57 edge. Leading 62-60, Centenary went on an 11-2 run over the next five minutes for a 72-62 lead with under two minutes remaining in regulation. That run was the difference in the game as the Cyclones came away with the 79-68 win.
Neumann (11-5, 1-1 Atlantic East) will head to Immaculata next Saturday to continue conference action. Tip-off is slated for 1:00 PM.
