ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University Women's Soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision against Atlantic East Conference foe, Marywood University, on Saturday afternoon.
Marywood controlled much of the pace to start things off but Neumann was able to put together a few counterpunch chances. At the half, the Pacers outshot Neumann 12-7, but only 3-2 on goal. 1:59 into the second half, Marywood was able to strike on an outside shot for a 1-0 lead. They doubled their advantage on a scramble in front of the goal in the 68
th minute.
Ebony Arvelo led the Knights attack with three shots, one on goal.
Kyleigh Joniec had two shots, both forcing a save by the Marywood 'keeper.
Marisa Nicolucci and
Summer Brown also had two shots.
Lex Navarro was busy in goal, making seven saves in the effort.
Neumann (5-8-1, 1-1 Atlantic East) will be back in action on Wednesday when they head to Brooklyn for a first-ever meeting against Pratt Institute. The game is scheduled for a 2:00 PM start.
