ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University Men's Soccer took down Pratt Institute on Wednesday afternoon by a final score of 6-0.
Just over two minutes into the match, Neumann broke into the box with numbers.
Jake Kuzmick slipped a pass across to
Alex Duopu who settled it and fired it in for the 1-0 lead. Six minutes later, Duopu struck again, receiving a cross at the top of the 18-yard box from
Zion Atta-Krah, and rolling in home to double the advantage. In the 26
th minute, Duopu completed the hat-trick after getting a pass from
Logan Harned, he snuck it past the goalkeeper for his fourth goal of the season. Two minutes later, it was Harned's turn as he grabbed the rebound from a corner and score his first collegiate goal to make it 4-0 at the half.
The Knights continued to control the play, but it took until the 61st minute to put another on the board. Kuzmick started a run up the left side and fired in his team-leading sixth goal of the year. Less than a minute later, Atta-Krah blasted in his fourth of the season to close out the scoring.
In addition to his three-goal performance, he took seven shots, six on goal.
Luke Mejia took four shots with one on goal while both Kuzmick had three shots, with two on goal.
Jackson Laznik picked up his second shutout, making two saves.
Neumann (6-5-4, 3-0 Atlantic East) will be back in action on Saturday for Senior Day when they host Gwynedd Mercy University for a 12:00 PM start.
