IMMACULATA, Pa. – The Neumann University Men's Soccer team defeated Immaculata University in an Atlantic East Conference match on Wednesday night by a final score of 3-0.
Neumann didn't take long to get on the board as
Jake Kuzmick took a
Luke Mejia chip in the fourth minute and turned it into a breakaway. Kuzmick calmly banked a slow shot off the far side post for his seventh goal of the season for the 1-0 lead. 2:03 later, Mejia found a loose ball on the left side of the box and powered in his second goal of the season to double the advantage that would hold until the half time break.
The Knights continued to control much of the play, but the Mighty Macs held on tight to keep the goal difference at two. In the 85
th minute,
Alex Duopu took an angled pass from
Nick LoBiondo and blasted in his seventh goal of the season to seal the game for Neumann's third win in a row.
Mejia led the Knights with six shots, three on goal. Kuzmick had all four of his shots reach the goal while LoBiondo and
Zion Atta-Krah, each had three shots and one on goal.
Jackson Laznik picked up his third shutout of the season, making five saves.
Neumann (8-5-4, 5-0 Atlantic East) will close out the regular season on Wednesday, October 30 when they host Marymount University. The game is scheduled to start at 7:00 PM.
