ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University Field Hockey team dropped a heartbreaking season finale on Wednesday afternoon, falling in overtime against Immaculata University by a final score of 1-0.
Despite being outshot 11-4, Neumann was efficient in their shot selection with two of their shots going on goal. 60 minutes could not decide the match but in the 7-on-7 overtime, the Mighty Macs scored in 23 seconds to take the game.
Molly McGee led the Knights attack with two shots, one on goal.
Cadence Conti and
Natalia Thomas also took single shots.
Emma Schneider battled in goal, making three pivotal saves to force the extra period.
Neumann (4-12, 0-4 Atlantic East) sees their season come to a close as they did not qualify for the Atlantic East Conference tournament. The Knights played in five overtime games and nine of their 16 games were one-goal affairs, showing that they battled in every game.
