HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – The Neumann University Men's Soccer team opened the Atlantic East Conference schedule in style with a 5-0 win over Centenary University on Wednesday afternoon.
It didn't take long for Neumann to get things started as
Jackson Laznik slammed a clear to the opposite 18-yard box and
Alex Duopu ran onto it and deposited it home, just 44 seconds into the game. In the 28
th minute, they doubled the lead when
Zion Atta-Krah got free on the left side of the box and powered home his second of the season.
The onslaught continued into the second half when
Jake Kuzmick collected a loose ball in the 53
rd minutes and whipped a shot off the post for a 3-0 lead. Five minutes later, Atta-Krah found a loose ball on the penalty spot and turned it into the net to extend the Knights' lead further.
Riley Senisi closed out the scoring as he found a rebound and collected his second of the year in the 64th minute.
In addition to his one goal, one assist performance, Duopu led with five shots, one on goal. Atta-Krah and Kuzmick had three shots each while
Nick LoBiondo came off the bench for four shots, two on goal. Laznik played 66 minutes in goal and made three saves for the win.
Carson Metzger mopped up from there and made two stops.
Neumann (4-4-4, 1-0 Atlantic East) will be back in action on Saturday when they visit Marywood for a 3:00 PM game.
