ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University Men's Soccer team defeated the Immaculata University Mighty Macs in the Atlantic East Conference semifinals by a final score of 1-0 on Wednesday night.
The lone goal of the game came in the 31
st minute when
Jake Kuzmick got on the end of a cleared ball and raced inside the box. As he collected the ball, he slipped it between the legs of a defender and under the outstretched arm of the goalkeeper for his team-leading eighth goal of the season. The Knights continued to press for an insurance goal, but they wouldn't need it as they came away with the one-goal victory.
Kuzmick led Neumann with seven shots, two on goal.
Luke Mejia also had two shots on goal while
Zion Atta-Krah took four shots.
Jackson Laznik made five saves for his fourth shutout of the season.
With this win, Neumann (9-6-4) advances to the Atlantic East Conference Championship game on Saturday, in Virginia against Marymount University.
