ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's basketball team dropped a 60-54 decision to York College (Pa.) on Saturday afternoon.
Lauren Klieber led the Knights with 18 points.
Aubrie Breisblatt tallied 11 rebounds and 10 points.
Bri Gautier added 10 points.
The teams went back and forth in the first period. A three-pointer by Klieber before the buzzer made the score Spartans 16, Knights 15 at the first break. York held the lead throughout the second quarter and took a 31-26 lead at the half.
The Spartans scored the first basket of the third quarter before the Knights went on a 9-0 run to take a 35-33 edge midway through the quarter. A layup by
Emily DuPont with 16 seconds left on the clock gave Neumann a 41-40 advantage heading into the final 10 minutes.
The game featured three tied scores in the fourth quarter, the last being tied at 54 with 2:41 left in regulation. A layup by the Spartans with 1:36 on the clock put them ahead. York went 4-for-4 from the line in the final 11 seconds to seal the win.
Neumann (5-4) will host Delaware Valley next Saturday beginning at 1:00 PM.
