ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's lacrosse team opened the 2024 season hosting Stockton University on Tuesday afternoon, falling 21-8.
Lindsey Fagan led the Knights with five goals and seven shots.
Cionni Warrington added two goals and an assist.
Catriona Corrigan made six saves in net.
Fagan scored the first two goals of the game within the first three minutes. The Ospreys tied the game at two when Fagan netted her third goal with 2:50 left in the first quarter. Stockton scored again before the break and the teams were knotted at three after the first.
Stockton netted six straight goals in the second quarter for a 9-3 lead.
Ainsley George stopped the run. The Ospreys scored again before the end of the half for a 10-4 score.
Warrington opened the scoring in the third quarter. Fagan scored two more times, and Warrington found the net again, for four goals in the quarter.
Ashley Butts had the assist on Fagan's goal with three second left in the third quarter. Stockton scored six goals and five in the fourth for the 21-8 final.
Neumann (0-1) is back on the field on Saturday when it travels to Bryn Mawr. Action is slated to get underway at 12:00 PM.
