Men’s Lacrosse Takes Down King’s

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Neumann University Men's Lacrosse team took a trip north and defeated King's College in a non-conference game on Wednesday afternoon. The final score was 13-9.

Neumann fell behind early giving up two goals in the first eight minutes. With 4:22 left in the first, Justice Brovero got on the first goal in the game for the Knights. Two minutes later, the Monarchs retook a two goal lead and held it into the second.

The Knights used the small break between quarters to regroup and they responded with three straight goals. Brendan Boschi scored at the 13:51 and 8:53 marks to tie the game at three. Javon Felix then gave his squad their first lead 14 seconds later. That served to wake-up King's as they went on a three goal run before Connor Hurley made it a 6-5 game with 19 seconds left in the half.

Early in the third, the Monarchs regained their two goal advantage but the Knights answered by scoring the next three. Luke Sykes pulled Neumann within one with 8:04 left in the quarter. It took three and a half minutes, but Emmett Wexler tied the game up. With 2:19 left, Boschi again gave Neumann the lead, 8-7. King's closed the quarter with a goal to tie game.

The fourth quarter became Neumann's time to shine as they outscored King's 5-1. Less than two minutes in, Boschi gave the Knights the lead for good. He struck again with ten minutes left. The game went scoreless over the next seven minutes. Sykes and Boschi scored 19 seconds apart to seal the game. King's got their final goal with 13 seconds left then Felix ended the game with a goal with five seconds of the clock.

Boschi finished with six goals and an assist, peppering the cage with ten shots. Sykes had two goals and an assist, while Felix had two goals of his own.
