ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University Men's Lacrosse team had a dominating Saturday afternoon, defeating Cairn University in a non-conference match-up , 25-3, for their third straight win.
The Knights took no prisoners, starting the game off with seven straight goals.
Brendan Boschi scored three,
Gannon McKee scored twice, while
Renzo Garone and
Emmett Wexler had one each, before Cairn scored with nine seconds on the clock to close out the first quarter.
The second featured more of the same as Neumann scored the only 10 goals of the period.
Connor Hurley scored three, Boschi also added three to his tally, Wexler also scored twice.
Luke Sykes and
Connor Paradis scored one each as the Knights led 17-1 into the midway break.
18 second into the third, with the man up,
Jordan Frenzen picked up a goal. Hurley,
Matt Morris, and
Justice Brovero also snared single goals, ballooning the lead to 19. Frenzen, Garone, Carter Vanderhoohven, and McKee had goals in the fourth to close the big victory.
Boschi finished with six goals and three assists to lead the Knights. Wexler had three goals and five assists, while Hurley scored four goals. McKee notched a hat-trick, Garone had two goals and two assists, and Frenzen had two goals and an assist.
Jake Methlie snatched 13 of the 15 face-offs he took, with 11 grounds balls.
Callum Labonte led all defenders with seven caused turnovers. The trio of
Owen Avelar,
Brycen Wolfahrt, and
Joe Mcfiberesima combined for seven saves with Avelar getting the win.
Neumann(4-1) will return to action on Wednesday when they visit Goucher College for another non-conference game. It is scheduled for a 7:00 PM start.
