DALLAS, Pa. – The Neumann University Men's Lacrosse team dropped a 19-6 decision to non-conference rival, Misericordia University, on Tuesday night.
Misericordia picked up the first two goals of the game but, at the 10:49 mark,
Connor Hurley scored on a feed from
Brendan Boschi, making it a 2-1 game. For Boschi, that assist represents his 100
th point as a Knight. Unfortunately, for Neumann, the Cougar scored two more times in the first, eight in the second, and the first four of the third, to take control of the game.
With 5:54 left in the third, Hurley ended the long run with his second of the game. Less than a minute later,
Renzo Garone also picked up a goal for the Knights.
Matt Morris continued the positive stretch for Neumann with a goal at the 2:34 mark. 40 seconds later, it was Boschi's turn, before Misericordia closed the period with a goal with three seconds left. Boschi notched his second goal of the game in the early stages of the fourth, but the Cougars kept the Knights at bay while picking up two more goals.
Boschi finished with two goals and an assist on six shots on goal, while adding two ground balls. Hurley's two goals came on just three shots.
Jake Methlie won 15 of 20 faceoffs and
Javon Felix only lost one of the eight he took. Methlie also led in ground balls with 12 as Felix had eight.
Owen Avelar made nine saves over the first 30 minutes and
Brycen Wolfahrt tallied one in the final two quarters.
Neumann (4-4) will return to action on Saturday when they host FDU- Florham in another non-conference game. The game is scheduled for a 3:00 PM start.
