KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. – The Neumann University baseball team defeated Rosemont College 5-4 in 10 innings on Wednesday evening.
Matt Mason led off the game with a single and came around to score on a sacrifice fly by
Anthony Rakotz for a 1-0 lead. Neumann added a run in the second as
Nick Glebocki reached on a fielders choice, stole second and third, and scored on a sacrifice fly by
Owen Friddell.
In the third,
Tyler Kilmer singled and came around to score on a wild pitch. Ratotz scored on an RBI groundout by
Thomas Elgrim in the fifth for a 4-0 lead.
The Ravens got two runs back in the home half of the fifth. Another in the seventh and tied the game in the bottom of the eighth.
Andrew Curran led off the top of the 10
th with a single.
Thomas Carroll came in to pinch-run. Elgrim hit a sacrifice bunt to move Carroll to second.
Zion Spearman batted with two-runners on base and hit a single to score Carroll and put the Knights up 5-4.
The Ravens went down 1-2-3 in the bottom of the 10
th.
Zach Mullins started the game and went 6.2 innings. He allowed three runs on six hits and struck out five.
Jack Valentine went 3.1 innings for the win, allowing one run and striking out two.
Neumann (13-16) will head to Stevenson next Tuesday in a rescheduled game. First pitch is slated for 3:30 PM.
