ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's tennis team battle Marywood University in an Atlantic East Conference semifinal match on Friday, falling 5-3.
The sister duo of Alura and
Dari Troilo tallied the Knights lone point in doubles action, winning 8-3 in the second flight.
Alura Troilo went on to win her singles match, 6-1, 6-3 at third singles for Neumann's second point.
Sha'xaria Gordon won 6-2, 6-2 at sixth singles.
As the Pacers held a 4-3 edge, the match came down to fourth and fifth singles and both went into third sets.
Kylie Seeger dropped 6-4 in the first set before winning 6-4 to force a third set. The senior battled but fell 6-2 and Marywood took the match 5-3. After falling 6-4 in the first set,
Rachel Frederick won 6-2 in set two. The match was called tied at two in the third set.
Neumann finishes its season 6-6 overall.
