BRYN MAWR, Pa. – The Neumann University Women's Soccer team suffered a 2-0 non-conference loss at the hands Bryn Mawr University on Sunday afternoon.
The Knights were slow to get started as they were outshot 3-0 in the first half. The Owls struck first in the 15
th minute on a free kick from just outside of the box for a 1-0 lead. They followed six minutes later with a goal that was kneed in from a corner kick, doubling their advantage.
From there the Neumann defense stepped up in their attempt to will a comeback. In the second half, the Knights out-cornered Bryn Mawr by a 2-1 margin. Although the Knights were able to control portions of the play they couldn't muster a shot into the goal.
Catherine Miller and
Hannah Dang led the Knights with a shot each, with Miller's shot forcing a goalkeeping response.
Kiki Soto made her first start as a Neumann Knight and made two saves to keep her squad close.
Neumann(1-1) will be back in action on Wednesday night when they host Notre Dame of Maryland in a non-conference match-up. The game is scheduled for a 7:00 PM start.
