HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Neumann University Men's Soccer team took a short trip to Haverford College and earned a 1-1 tie against the Fords in a non-conference match on Tuesday afternoon.
The first half went scoreless, but Haverford struck first after a Neumann corner was cleared out of the box. The Fords quickly moved down the field on the counter and in the 51
st minute, they took the lead. The Knights pressured for the equalizer throughout the remainder of the match and finally got their shot in the 90
th minute. After a
Nick LoBiondo corner bounced around the box, the ball squirted out to
Landon Moroney. He lifted an elevated pass towards the post and
Jason DiFilippo headed it home with just 11 seconds left on the clock.
LoBiondo led the Knights with four shots and two on goal.
Luke Mejia and
Jake Kuzmick each took two shots with Kuzmick's pair forcing saves.
Jackson Laznik made six saves to help secure the Neumann's second straight tie.
Neumann (1-2-2) will be back in action on Friday when they visit Delaware Valley University. The game in Doylestown, Pa. is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
