READING, Pa. – The Neumann University Women's Soccer team doubled up the Albright University Lions in a non-conference match on Wednesday by a score of 2-0.
The first 45 minutes went scoreless and both teams had limited chances on goal. Neumann led in shots 8-3 but both teams had two shots on goal. The Knights did lead in corner kicks, 3-0.
In the 64
th minute, an Eastern goal kick was intercepted by
Jordan Bard. After a quick pass from
Morghan Stiles,
Ebony Arvelo broke into the box and rolled in her first goal of the season for a 1-0 lead. Arvelo struck again in the 82nd minute to seal the game in favor of the Knights.
Arvelo came off the bench and in addition to her goals, she took five shots.
Catherine Miller and Stiles each had two shots, with one on goal.
Lex Navarro picked up the win in goal as she made three saves.
Neumann(4-1) be return to the field on Saturday when they visit their cross-county rivals, Widener University. The match-up against the Pride in Chester is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
