BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – The Neumann University Women's Soccer team suffered a 5-1 non-conference loss against Bryn Athyn College on Saturday afternoon.
It was a rough start for the Knights as they gave up goals in the second and fourth minutes for an early 2-0 deficit. The Lions added goals in the 16
th and 26
th minutes to double their advantage heading into halftime. With 15 minutes left in the match, Bryn Athyn added one more marker. In the 87th minute,
Jaclyn Burmood got free outside of the box with a nice fake and poked a pass to
Kera McKnight who fired in her first goal of the season, avoiding a shutout.
Anna Poehlmann led the offensive attack with four shots, three on goal.
Julianna Hatt also took four shots. Burmood added two shots, one on goal, to her assist.
Kyleigh Joniec played 76 minutes in goal and made four saves.
Kiki Soto played the last 14 and made one stop.
Neumann (4-4) will be back in action on Wednesday when they host Delaware Valley University in a non-conference match starting at 4:00 PM.
