ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University Women's Soccer team dropped a 3-2 decision at the hands of Delaware Valley University on Wednesday afternoon.
Neumann got on the board first when
Marisa Nicolucci slipped a pass to
Anna Poehlmann, sending her on a breakaway. In the ninth minute, she snuck a shot past the 'keeper for her third goal of the season and a 1-0 lead. 10 minutes later, in the 19
th minute, the Aggies were able to equalize, sending the game into the break, even.
Nine minutes into the second, Delaware Valley took the lead. They then extended it in the 77
th minute. Neumann started to press in efforts to get back into the game, even missed a penalty kick in the 81
st minute. In the 89
th, they were awarded another penalty. Although the shot was saved, the rebound was put in by
Hannah Dang for her second of the year, but the Knights ran out of time to complete the comeback.
Poehlmann and Dang each had three shots with two on goal to lead the Neumann offensively.
Julianna Hatt finished with two shots.
Kiki Soto made one save in goal.
Neumann(4-5) will be back in action on Friday when they host FDU-Florham. Fans will be wearing white to celebrate Homecoming weekend as the game is scheduled for a 7:00 PM start.
