Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men’s Soccer Clips Eastern for First Win

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University Men's Soccer team came from behind to defeat Eastern University in a non-conference game on Wednesday afternoon. The final score was 3-1.

Eastern carried much of the play early on and found the back of the net in the 17th minute for a 1-0 lead. Ten minutes later, Nick LoBiondo came in on a short breakaway. Although he was stopped, Jake Kuzmick followed the play and put home the rebound in the 27th minute to tie the game. That scoreline held until the halftime break despite the Eagles carrying most of the play.

The second half was a completely different story as it was the Knights who forced the play and created scoring chances. In the 57th minute, LoBiondo broke into the box on the right. His cross careened off a defender on nestled inside the goal, giving Neumann a 2-1 lead. In the 84th minute, Jon Yinger took a corner from the right side. His cross dropped onto the foot of Kuzmick and he roofed the ball to ice the game.

Kuzmick led the offensive charge with his two goals on five shots. LoBiondo had all three of his shot reach the goal while Riley Senisi and Justin Ruffino each took two shots off the bench. Carson Metzger earned the win in goal, making six saves.

Neumann (1-2) returns to action with another non-conference game, this time against Stevenson University. Saturday afternoon's opening kick from the Turf Field is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
