ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University Men's Soccer team fell behind twice but pulled off a 2-2 draw against Stevenson Univresity on Saturday afternoon.
Neumann started off the match with good passing to work their way into the offensive third consistently. Against the run of play, it was Stevenson who would take a 1-0 lead on a free kick in the 10
th minute. In the 35
th minute,
Riley Senisi battled for a high ball in the box and was knocked down for a penalty kick.
Justin Ruffino was tasked with taking the kick and rolled it into the left corner to tie the game at one.
The Mustangs' lone corner kick of the match came in the 63
rd minute and they took full advantage as they scored on header to regain the lead. Nine minutes later,
Alex Duopu sent a brilliant elevated pass into the box for
Aiden Conover to run on to and he half-volleyed it home to equalize once again.
Jon Zubert had the most opportunities towards goal with three shots. Ruffino had two shots, both on goal and Senisi also attempted two shots.
Neumann(1-2-1) will hit the road for their next match as they take on Haverford College on Tuesday afternoon. The opening kick is scheduled for 4:30 PM.
