LA PLUME, Pa. – The Neumann University Women's Soccer team, on the strength of a three-goal
Julianna Hatt performance, defeated Keystone College by a final score of 4-0 on Saturday afternoon.
Catherine Miller got the scoring started in the 12th minute when she accepted a through-ball from Hatt and beat the 'keeper on the short side for her second of the season, and the early lead. In the 35
th minute, the Knights were awarded a corner kick.
Kyleigh Joniec drove the kick across the six-yard box and Hatt headed it in to double the lead.
Three minutes after the halftime break,
Ebony Arvelo broke in towards the box and dropped a pass back to Hatt. She took one touch and lifted it to the top of the cage for a 3-0 lead. Nine minutes later, in the 58
th minute, Hatt notched her third of the game with a 25-yard shot that deflected off the goalie.
Hannah Dang and
Jaclyn Burmood were awarded the assists on the game's final goal.
Hatt and Arvelo had five shots with seven of those ten hitting the goal. Dang added three shots with one reaching the goalie.
Kiki Soto picked up the clean sheet with a three-save performance.
Neumann(3-1) will return to action on Wednesday when they visit Albright College for a 4:00 PM start.
