ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's hockey team doubled-up Stevenson University 4-2 on Friday afternoon in a MAC conference game.
The Knights jumped out early, scoring just 32 seconds into the game as
Charlotte Labre stole the puck and put it into the back of the net. Neumann added two power play games in the first.
Gia Santorello scored midway through the period off an assist from
Kaylynn Savoy.
Trish Dan put the Knights up 3-0 with 2:58 left before the intermission. Savoy and Santorello tallied the assists.
The Mustangs scored their two goals in the second period for a 3-2 game after two.
Neumann went back up by two five minutes into the third period as
Kaylee Voss scored.
Emma Tauken and Labre got the assists for the 4-2 final.
Noelle Woodard made 26 saves in net for the win.
The Knights went 2-for-3 on the power play while Stevenson was 0-for-4.
Neumann (3-7-2, 2-5-2 MAC) and Stevenson will meet again tomorrow afternoon. Puck drop is slated for 2:00 PM.
