ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's basketball team opened Atlantic East Conference action with a 68-45 win over Marywood University on Saturday afternoon.
Aubrie Breisblatt led the Knights with 17 points.
Emily DuPont netted 15 points in the win.
Jacqueline Wardrop added nine points and 10 rebounds.
Jenna Aponik added 10.
With the Pacers leading 7-4 midway through the first quarter, the Knights went on a 10-0 run and ended the quarter scoring 12 of the final 14 points to take a 16-9 lead.
Marywood scored the first five points of the second quarter before Neumann went on another 10-0 run for a 26-16 advantage. The teams traded point until halftime and the Knights took a 35-26 lead into the break.
The Knights worked on building their lead in the third quarter and took a 17-point advantage, 52-35, into the final 10 minutes. Neumann built a lead as large as 27, 68-41, and came away with the 68-45 conference win.
Neumann (9-5, 1-0 Atlantic East) continues conference action as it hosts Immaculata on Wednesday evening beginning at 6:00 PM.
