ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's basketball team dropped a 77-67 decision to Immaculata University on Wednesday evening in Atlantic East Conference action.
 
Emily DuPont led the Knights with 19 points. Aubrie Breisblatt netted 17 points. Jenna Aponik tallied 11 points and Taylor Hehnly added 10 points and seven rebounds.
 
The Mighty Macs opened the game by scoring the first eight points. Hehnly put the Knights on the board with a three-pointer. Immaculata built a lead as large as 14 in the first quarter and took a 22-10 lead at the first break. The Mighty Macs led by as many as 21 in the second quarter, 35-14, and held a 38-22 advantage at halftime.
 
The Knights came out hot in the third quarter and started to cut their way into the deficit. With 1:05 left on the clock, a jumper by DuPont put Neumann up 46-45. The teams traded baskets in the final minute and the Mighty Macs took a 49-48 edge into the fourth quarter.
 
The fourth quarter started with the teams trading baskets for the first four minutes. With the Knights leading 56-55, two Mighty Mac free throws started a 14-2 run over the next two minutes for a 69-58 Immaculata lead.
 
The Knights pulled back to within six with 1:08 on the clock, 73-67, on a three-pointer by Hehny. Immaculata went 4-for-6 in the final minute from the free throw line to come away with the 77-67 final
 
Neumann (9-6, 1-1 Atlantic East) heads to Centenary next Wednesday for more conference action beginning at 6:00 PM.
