Men’s Tennis Celebrates Senior Day with First Win

ASTON, PA. – The Neumann University men's tennis team picked up its first win of the 2025-26 season by a 7-0 score over Penn State Abington on Thursday afternoon.

Prior to the match, the Knights thanked graduate student Trevor Lodge, as he will be graduating in December.

Each point was a battle for the Knights. In doubles action, Lodge and Mike Brown came away with a 7-6 (7-5) win. Neumann picked up the doubles point as Luca Troilo and James Leuzzi worked to a 7-6 (7-5) win at second doubles.

Brown kept the winning going, taking a 7-6 (7-5), 6-0 win at first singles. Lodge made quick work at second singles, 6-0, 6-1. Leuzzi tallied a 6-4, 6-3 win at third doubles.

Troilo fell in the first set of fourth single 6-1, but came back and took the match 6-4, 10-8. Adam Barisa came away with a 7-5, 6-1 win at fifth singles. Chandler Wolf wrapped up the match with a 6-1, 7-5 win at sixth singles.

From Lodge: "It was a pleasant surprise to have a Senior Day since I graduate in the fall and am the only senior on the team. It meant a lot to be recognized and have a ceremony to celebrate that. Capping it off with our first win of the season and a 7-0 sweep made the day even more special."

Neumann (1-2) heads to Cairn on Tuesday afternoon for more fall season action beginning at 3:30 PM.
