Seven Knights Pick Up Atlantic East Honors

HADDONFIELD, N.J. - The Atlantic East Conference announced their weekly awards on Monday afternoon, and Neumann University was well represented with seven being placed on the weekly Honor Roll.  


Caley Gee had 15 saves in a 1-1 week for the Field Hockey team, 0-1 in conference action. In their 1-0 win at Lancaster Bible, the senior made three saves. In the 3-2 loss at Marywood, Gee made 12 saves. This is her second weekly award of the season after being named Defensive Player of the Week on September 29th. 


Natalia Thomas scored the lone goal in Field Hockey's win over Lancaster Bible. The sophomore scored the goal in the 27th minute as she picked up her own rebound for her third goal of the season.  


Julianna Hatt scored the lone goal in Women's Soccer's 1-0 win over Gwynedd Mercy in Neumann's only game of the week. The sophomore scored the game-winning goal in the 35th minute for her third goal of the season. She finished the game with four shots, two going on net. This is the third weekly award of her career after being named the Player of the Week last season, twice. 


Trevor Lodge went 1-1 in singles and doubles action in a 1-1 week for the Men's Tennis team. In the loss to Arcadia, the graduate student battled at second singles, but fell 6-4, 6-1. Neumann then picked up its first win with a 7-0 decision over Penn State Abington. Lodge and partner Mike Brown won first singles 7-6 (7-5). Lodge tallied a 6-0, 6-1 win at second singles. 


Alura Troilo went 2-0 in singles action and 1-1 in doubles action as the Women's Tennis team opened the season 1-1. In her first doubles match with Sha'xaria Gordon, the duo fell 7-5 to Arcadia. Troilo then picked up a 6-4, 7-5 win at first singles as the Knights lost 5-2. In a 6-1 win over Penn State Abington, the same doubles duo won 6-0 at first doubles. The senior then won 6-2, 6-0 at first singles. This is the third weekly Honor Roll selection of her career.  


Julia Solomon tallied 39 kills and eight service aces in a 2-1 week for the Women's Volleyball team. In a 3-2 win against York (Pa.), the sophomore tallied 20 kills and seven service aces. She followed with 11 kills in a 3-0 loss at Lebanon Valley. This is her second weekly Honor Roll selection of the season, and third in her career. 


Finally, Kyla Carney handed out 90 assists and 24 digs this week. In the win at Albright, the sophomore dished out 28 assists and notched nine digs. Carney tallied 42 assists in the win over York (Pa.) and finished the weekend with 20 assists against Lebanon Valley. This is her second consecutive weekly Honor Roll selection.
