Evan Bohner Set to Lead Men’s Lacrosse Program

ASTON, Pa. - Neumann University Director of Athletics and Recreation, John Krimmel, is proud to announce that Evan Bohner has been named the new Head Coach for the Men's Lacrosse program.

Bohner comes to Neumann after spending the last five years with Arcadia University. Working with Head Coach Paul Mita, he served as both the Defensive Coordinator and the Associate Head Coach. He led the charge in recruitment, retention, practice and game plans, as well as skill development. Arcadia was 49-37 overall and 30-8 in MAC Commonwealth play during his tenure.

"I am beyond excited and truly honored to be named the next men's lacrosse coach at Neumann University", said Bohner. I would like to thank Athletic Director, John Krimmel, Deputy Director and Athletics, David Deal, President, Dr. Chris Domes, and the search committee for this opportunity. I am looking forward to working with the young men on this team and the athletic department as a whole, moving forward with the goal of continuing to build a lacrosse program that every administrator, coach, player, alumni, and Neumann community member can be proud of"

Before jumping to the collegiate ranks, Bohner had a distinguished career at the high school level, most recently at Cardinal O'Hara High School from 2018-2020. He was named the 2019 Philadelphia Catholic League coach of the year and led the program to their first ever district 12 AA championship and a berth in the PIAA's AA State Championship game. From 2013-2017, he was the defensive coordinator for St. Joseph's Prep, and from 2010-2013, he served in the same capacity at Upper Merion High School.

Bohner started his club coaching career at the Duke's Lacrosse Club in Aldan, Pa, working as the Defensive Co-Coordinator for all age levels from 2012 to 2021. He continued developing club players at Mesa Lacrosse Club in Radnor, where he was both a head coach and defensive coordinator. A position he still holds today.

John Krimmel said, "We are incredibly excited to welcome Coach Evan Bohner to the Neumann family. Evan's passion for lacrosse, infectious energy, and professionalism make him a perfect match for our men's lacrosse program. Coach Bohner has experienced success at all levels and his experience as a head coach at the high school level and as a top assistant for a MAC school will be a huge advantage for us from a recruiting perspective as we make the jump to the MAC next Fall."

In response to transitioning Neumann into a new conference, Bohner remarked, "I am excited to lead the Neumann men's lacrosse team as we enter the MAC Commonwealth in the spring of 2027. It we be an honor to compete against some of the best teams in the greater Philadelphia area and the entire country."

Here are additional quotes from some of Coach Bohner's former colleagues:

"I am thrilled for Evan Bohner to take the reins of Neumann University's men's lacrosse program. During my time working at Arcadia with Evan, I've seen firsthand his attention to detail, genuine care for his players, and passion for the game. As an established recruiter in the region and a dedicated coach, he is more than ready to lead his own program. Neumann is fortunate to have Evan guiding its team into the future and joining its athletic department." - Will Pilat - Head Men's Lacrosse Coach, Arcadia University (Former Head Men's Lacrosse Coach, Immaculata University)

"I am thrilled for Evan and really excited for the Neumann community as a whole. Evan brings years of experience to the position and has a proven track record of success in developing outstanding student-athletes, on and off the field. I know his energy and passion for the sport will resonate with current and future Knights. I look forward to all the success that is coming to the men's lacrosse program. Go Knights!" - Andy German - Head Men's Lacrosse Coach, Cleveland State University

"Evan Bohner is one of the most driven and detail-oriented coaches I've had the privilege to work with. He has a tremendous ability to build a program the right way through culture, accountability, and relentless recruiting. His defensive mind is exceptional, and he knows how to get the best out of his players. Neumann lacrosse is in great hands with Evan leading the program." - Paul Mita - Assistant Men's Lacrosse Coach, Villanova University (Former Head Men's Lacrosse Coach, Arcadia University)
