Men’s Tennis Closes Fall with Win

MEDIA, Pa. – The Neumann University Men's Tennis team closed out the Fall portion of the schedule in style as they shutout Penn State Brandywine by a final of 7-0.

In the doubles matches, the duo of Mike Brown and Trevor Lodge took their first doubles match, 6-2. In second doubles, Adam Barisa and Luca Troilo clinched the doubles point with a 6-3 win.

Brown took the first set of his first singles match 6-0 before being forced to battle 7-6 in the second. Lodge only lost one game of his second singles match as he won 6-0, 6-1. James Leuzzi won his match 7-5, 6-2 while Troilo pitched a shutout, 6-0, 6-0 in his fourth singles match. Chandler Wolf also won his match, finishing with a 6-0, 6-1 performance.

Lodge, who is graduating in December, remarked on playing his last match. "It was really special to end my collegiate career with a team win. Being able to get wins in both singles and doubles made it even sweeter. My time playing tennis at Neumann has been incredibly rewarding. I've made great memories that I'll cherish forever, like our semifinal win over Pratt in the Atlantic East Tournament. What I'll miss most, though, is competing alongside my teammates. They're a great group of guys, and I'm honored to call them my friends."

Neumann (3-2) will return to the court on March 12th when they open the Spring schedule against Bridgewater College.
