ASTON, Pa. – For the first time seven years, the Neumann University Field Hockey team is preparing to host a playoff game. As the No. 2 seed, the Knights will host the No. 3 from Immaculata University for a berth in the championship match.
 
Neumann improved their overall record from 2024 by six wins as they finished at 10-6. In conference play, they were 3-1, putting them in second place. 
Cadence Conti, who plays primarily as a defender, came up with a number of set piece goals on her way to a team-high 11, adding an assist for 23 points. 
Gabriella Cappelli filled up the score sheet as well with an eight goal, four assist performance for 20 points. 
Jess Silver led the squad in assists with five.
 
The goal has been patrolled as season, aside from 15 minutes, by 
Caley Gee. She picked up two shutouts and a conference best 1.93 goals against average. So far this year, she's made 63 saves on 93 shots faced for a save percentage of .677.
 
This semifinal is a rematch of the regular season finale from Wednesday night. The Knight came away with the win on the strength of an early second quarter goal. 
Meghan Sheldrick received a penalty corner insert from 
Ayla Mergen and blasted her shot to Conti who tipped it in. This was the first win over the Mighty Macs since 2018.
 
The other semifinal game will feature top seeded Marywood University hosting No. 4 Manhattanville University with both winners clashing in the championship game on Saturday, November 8
th, at the home of the higher surviving seed.
 
The semifinal between Neumann and Immaculata is scheduled for a 1:00 PM this coming Saturday on the Turf Field.
