ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University Women's Volleyball team is preparing to challenge Marymount University in the Atlantic East Conference semifinals on Thursday night at 6:00 PM.
The Knights are 12-11 overall and finished 4-3 in conference play, placing them as the No. 4 seed. On Tuesday night, they defeated No. 5 Centenary University in the First Round of the Tournament in five sets.
Melissa Eddy led the Knights with 17 kills, four service aces, and a hitting percentage of .263.
Julia Solomon added 12 kills while helping defensively with five block assists.
Kyla Carney and
Liv Bowers were the key passers with 23 and 13 assists, respectively.
Soleil-La'Jour Staggs was strong at the net with six blocks, including three block solos.
Hannah Strohm and Eddy pushed Neumann with 12 digs each.
Marymount is the top seed by virtue of a conference record of 7-0, going 15-16 overall, earning a bye into the semifinal. In their regular season meeting on November 8
th, the Saints defeated the Knights. 3-0.
Bri Gautier had nine kills, Carney had 13 assists, Staggs had six blocks, and Strohm had nine digs.
In the other semifinal, No. 2 Marywood will host No. 3 Immaculata. The semifinal winners will advance to the Atlantic East Championship on Saturday at the home of the highest remaining seed.
