Men’s Basketball Outpaces Marywood

Box Score SCRANTON, Pa. – The Neumann University Men's Basketball team took down Marywood University on Saturday afternoon by a final score of 92-81.
 
Neumann got things rolling with a 12-6 run to start the game. Both teams traded baskets until, with 10 minutes left, the Knights went on a 9-4 run over the next two minutes to give them a 32-23 lead. The Pacers responded with a 12-6 run to pull within three with four minutes left in the half. The Knights closed the half with a 10-6 push giving them a 48-41 lead at the break.
 
Marywood was hot to start the second as they pulled within two on the strength of scoring the first five points. Neumann responded with a 12-5 to extend the lead to nine with 13:43 left. The Knights pushed the lead to 13 at the midway point of the half. The Pacers were done as they crawled back with an 11-2 run, pulling within three with 4:45 left in regulation. That is as close as they would get as Neumann sprinted to the finish with 11 of the last 15 points of the game.
 
Donte Dupriest had his biggest game as a Knight, leading Neumann with 30 points and 21 rebounds, including nine on the offensive glass. DJ Earl had a huge performance as well, nabbing 22 points to go with three steals. Bryan Etienne contributed 21 key points on 7 of 10 shooting, and a team-high four blocks.
 
Neumann (15-5, 6-1 Atlantic East) will be back in action on Wednesday night when they host Immaculata University for a 6:00 PM start.
