LANGHORNE, Pa. – The Neumann University men's volleyball team defeated Cairn University 3-1 on Friday evening.
 
Trey Edmonds led the Knights with 20 kills and a .405 hitting percentage. Veryl Burns tallied 10 kills. Christian DeMarco notched 12 digs. Noah Banaag handed out 30 assists.
 
Each team had its lead in the first set. Block assists from Isaiah Raye-Ryan and Banaag gave the Knights the 25-20 set one win. The Highlanders answered with a 25-13 set two win to tie the match.
 
The Knights jumped out to a 10-5 edge in set three. Cairn tied the set at 13 and then the teams traded points. Three kills by Edmonds sealed the 25-21 set three win. Leading 23-21 in the fourth set, a kill by Burns and block assists from Burns and Banaag gave Neumann the 25-21 set four win and 3-1 match win.
 
Neumann (6-5) is off until next Saturday when it heads to King's College for a tri-match with Elizabethtown College.
