GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. – The Neumann University women's basketball team wrapped up the regular season with a 64-55 Atlantic East Conference win at Gwynedd Mercy on Friday evening.
Emily DuPont tallied a double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds. The senior added three assists and three blocks.
Lindsay Holden sank five three-pointers and finished with a game-high 20 points.
Bri Gautier scored 16 points and handed out six assists.
The first quarter remained close with three tied scores. A Griffin free throw put Gwynedd Mercy up 11-10 after the first 10 minutes. The second quarter was much of the same and a last second layup gave the Griffins a 27-26 lead at the break.
Holden started the second half with a three-pointer to put the Knights in the lead. Another three-pointer by Holden with 3:06 left on the clock gave Neumann a 13-points lead, 46-33. The Knights took a 52-38 lead into the final quarter.
The Knights held a double-digit lead for most of the fourth quarter to come away with the 64-55 win to end the regular season.
Neumann (15-9, 6-4 Atlantic East) finishes as the No. 3 seed in the Atlantic East Tournament and will head to No. 2 seeded Marymount on Wednesday for semifinal action.
