ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University Women's Hockey team dropped a 4-2 decision against Hood College to close out the 2024-25 season on Saturday afternoon.
Kaylynn Savoy had a goal and put six shots on goal to lead the Knights.
Kaila Booth had the other goal.
Emma Tauken helped defensively with three blocked shots.
Noelle Woodard made 29 saves in goal.
After the first period went scoreless, Hood got on the board 25 seconds into the second with a successful penalty shot. At the 4:44 mark, they added a power play goal for a 2-0 lead. Neumann nabs their own power play goal in the late stages of the period. Booth notched her third goal of the season with assists from
Gia Santorello and
Lian Sydorowicz, with 3:56 remaining.
In the third, the Blazers added two more goals at even strength to lead 4-1 with 2:49 to go. Savoy was able to punch in her seventh goal of the season, on the power play, with just .9 seconds showing on the clock.
Neumann ends the season with a 4-17-3 overall record and a 3-15-3 record in Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) play. They finish in seventh place and will not qualify for the postseason tournament. They look forward to October, and a new season, in hopes to improve their standing.
