LANCASTER, Pa. – The Atlantic East Conference announced their weekly awards on Monday afternoon and Neumann University's lacrosse teams had an impressive showing. Men's Lacrosse swept the top spots as
Brendan Boschi was named the Player of the Week and
Owen Avelar was named Defensive Player of the Week. Both
Lindsey Fagan and
Abbey Fenton were named to the Women's Lacrosse weekly Honor Roll.
Boschi scored seven goals, including his 100
th career goal, and added three assists in the 15-14 win at Drew for Neumann's first win of the season. The junior scored the game-winning goal with nine seconds left in regulation. This is his second Player of the Week award of the young season, and fifth of his career.
Avelar made 16 saves in the win at Drew, helping the Knights to their first win of the season. He earns his fifth weekly award for his career, and the third Defensive Player of the Week honor.
Fagan opened the season with three goals and an assist in the 17-10 loss at Stockton. She went 2-for-2 on free position shots, had eight total shots, four on net, grabbed four draw controls and four ground balls while causing three turnovers. This is the 12
th weekly award of the grad student's career.
Fenton made 12 saves in her Knights debut in the game at Stockton. This is the first weekly honor of her career.
Both teams will be back in action on Tuesday as they'll back-to-back on Neumann University's turf field. The women will host Delaware Valley University at 4:00 PM. The men will follow with a 7:00 PM tilt against King's College.
