Women’s Tennis Battles in 2025 Spring Opener

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's tennis team battled but fell 4-3 to Lancaster Bible in the spring schedule opener on Thursday afternoon.
 
The Chargers opened the match winning first and second doubles to take the doubles point.
 
The teams then split the points available in singles action. Alura Troilo won her first singles match in a tiebreaker. The junior won the first set 6-0, falling 6-3, but then winning the tiebreaker 11-9. Sha'xaria Gordon dropped the second singles match, also in a tiebreaker. After falling 6-4, the sophomore won the second set 6-2. The Chargers took the tiebreaker 10-8.
 
Kaitlyn Smith won her match at third singles 6-3, 6-1. Molly McGee took the points at sixth singles via forfeit.
 
Neumann (0-5) will look to get into the win column when it hosts Eastern on Saturday beginning at 12:00 PM.
