WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Neumann University Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field teams opened the 2025 season at the Purple and Gold Opener, hosted by West Chester University.
Jodi Johnson had the best result of the day as he finished in seventh place in the 1500-meter race with a time of 4:16.73.
Bryan Castro also ran the 1500 with a time of 4:36.3. The combination of Johnson, Castro,
Wyatt Boyer, and
Hakeem Hall also finished in seventh in the 4x400-meter relay. Hall started off the season well in the 400 with a personal best time of 54.9.
Olufehinti Olufeyisara also ran that distance with a time of 59.47. Boyer closed out the men's day with an 800-meter race of 2:22.77.
On the women's side,
Neshaya Overton earned a personal best time in the 400, finished in 1:17.14.
Quinaya Barker had a time of 1:20.7. Both
Aniyah Holmes and
Sahdahya Addy had personal top times in the 800 at 3:00.56 and 3:04.17, respectively.
Katie Baier competed in the 1500-meter race and grabbed a time of 6:27.5. The team of Addy, Holmes, Barker, and Overton worked the 4x400 and finished in 4:55.17.
It was an active meet in the throwing events as well as
Alli Siravo tossed the shot put 8.29 meters, the discus 22.08 meter, and the hammer, 28.84 meters.
Sydney Wilson competed in four field events as she was strong in the javelin with a throw of 25.24 meter. In the shot put, she reached 7.46 meters. She went 16.47 meters in the discus, and 19.35 meters in the hammer throw.
Kyleigh Joniec also competed in the javelin throw with a distance of 24.92 meters.
Neumann will be back in action next weekend as they compete in the Danny Curran Invitational on the campus of Widener University in Chester, Pa.
