SCRANTON, Pa. – The Neumann University Softball team were swept in a doubleheader against Marywood University on Sunday afternoon by scores of 1-0, and 4-0.
Bri Reim was 2 for 3 in game one while
Emily Ammon was 2 for 3 in game two.
Olivia Ammon pitched game one, allowing just the one run on eight hits and a walk, while striking out one.
After a scoreless first in game one, Marywood scored the lone run of the game on an RBI single that landed in right field. Neumann's best threat was in the sixth when the first two batters reached but after a successful sacrifice bunt, they could not push home a run.
In game two, the Pacers got their first run in the third on a double down the right field line. They added two more runs in the fifth on a two-run double. An RBI single in the sixth, closed out the offense. Again, the Knights only mustered one big threat, in the fifth, when they loaded the bases with one out.
Neumann (6-26, 3-3 Atlantic East) will return to action on Tuesday for a non-conference doubleheader at Elizabethtown College starting at 3:00 PM.
