HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – The Neumann University Men's Lacrosse team upended Centenary University on Wednesday afternoon, 27-7, in an Atlantic East Conference match-up.
Brendan Boschi finished with four goals and six assists for 10 points, taking over the Neumann University career points lead with 231, surpassing Drew Conlon '22.
Jake Methlie with his 16 ground balls becomes the all-time program leader with 430, passing current assistant coach Jack Newswanger '21.
Connor Paradis led the offensive onslaught with the "sock trick" of six goals, adding an assist.
Matt Morris had two goals and an assist while
Gannon McKee had two goals and two assists. In addition to his ground balls, Methlie was 18-3 at the faceoff dot.
Sean Kelly was 6 for 6 while notching a hat trick and two assists.
Colin McGuire led defensively with five caused turnovers.
Neumann started off on fire by picking up the first five goals of the game. Paradis, Morris,
Braden Travaglini,
Aidan Graczyk, and
Luke Sykes picked up the goals before Centenary could respond. The Cyclones went on a three-goal run, late in the first but Boschi scored with 16 seconds left to make it a 6-3 lead after one.
Boschi scored again 16 seconds into the second and the Knights blitzed Centenary, scoring all ten goals of the period. Paradis scored three times, McKee scored twice, Morris, Travaglini, McGuire, and one more by Boschi, keyed Neumann to a 16-3 lead at the half. They also scored the only seven goals of the third, including the first collegiate goal for defenseman
Bryan Avanzato, and the first three goals of the fourth. In all, it was a 21 goal run before the Cyclones got back on the board.
Neumann (4-12, 1-3 Atlantic East) will conclude the regular season on Wednesday, April 16
th, as they'll visit Marywood, hoping for a win to propel them into the postseason. The game is scheduled for a 7:00 PM start.
