ARLINGTON, Va. – The Neumann University Men's Tennis team battled Atlantic East Conference foe, Marymount University on Wednesday afternoon, dropping a close 4-3 decision.
In doubles action,
Joe Troilo and
Trevor Lodge, the second doubles team, earned a 6-1 win, while
Logan Gorbitz and
Anthony Carpinella nabbed a 6-2 win as the Knights picked up the doubles point.
Vince Landis won the first set of his second singles match, 6-4, before stepping on the gas and controlling the second set, 6-1. Carpinella, in sixth singles, had a back-and-forth match as he dominated the first set, 6-0. He dropped the second set 6-4, but picked up the point in the third, 6-2.
Trevor Lodge pushed his fourth singles opponent to the limit, winning the first set, 6-4 before falling 6-4, 6-3.
Neumann (7-5, 2-2 Atlantic East) will be the host for the 2025 Atlantic East Conference tournament as the semifinals will be held on Friday, April 25
th. The Championship will be on Saturday, April 26
th.
