Men’s Lacrosse Battles with Lebanon Valley

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University Men's Lacrosse team dropped a back-and-forth match-up against non-conference foe, Lebanon Valley College, by a final score of 15-12.
 
Connor Hurley led the Knights with six goals and an assist, along with five ground balls. Connor Paradis added a hat trick and an assist while Braden Travaglini scored twice with an assist. Jake Methlie won 19 of 23 faceoffs and scooped up 14 ground balls. Luke Sykes had a strong all-around game with a goal, two assists, six ground balls, and two caused turnovers. Owen Avelar made 10 saves.
 
Both teams traded goals over the first quarter with Neumann taking 1-0, 2-1, and 3-2 leads, thanks to Paradis, Travaglini, and Hurley. Lebanon Valley took their first lead of the game with 1 second left in the first quarter.
 
54 seconds into the second, the Flying Dutchmen took the first two-goal lead of the game. The Knights scored three of the next four goals with Hurley scoring twice and Paradis once, tying the game at six with 7:41 left in the half. Lebanon Valley again pulled ahead by two but Hurley scored twice in 47 seconds, again equalizing the game at eight at the break.
 
Sykes pulled Neumann up by one 1:18 into the third but Lebanon Valley scored three of four for an 11-10 lead after 45 minutes of play. Hurley and Travaglini notched goals for the Knights but the Flying Dutchmen pulled away for the win.
 
Neumann (3-9) will be back in action on Saturday afternoon when they visit Immaculata University to open Atlantic East Conference play. The game is scheduled for a 1:00 PM start.
