Neumann Set to Host Atlantic East Tennis Championships

ASTON, Pa. - The 2025 Atlantic East Conference Men's and Women's Tennis Championships are set to begin on Friday, April 25th and crown the champions on Sunday, April 27th, and, once again, Neumann University is honored to host the competition.
 
In the Women's tournament, the semifinals will feature No. 1 Pratt against No. 4 Neumann and No. 2 Marywood against No. 3 Marymount, both starting at 12:00 PM. The semifinal winners will advance to the conference championship on Sunday at 1:00 PM.
 
Molly McGee led the Knights' effort this season with a 6-2 singles record and was 3-2 in doubles play. Casey McGee was 4-1 as a single and Kaitlyn Smith was 6-4 in singles and 5-3 in doubles.
 
Neumann visited Pratt in their lone regular season meeting with the Cannoneers coming away with the victory.
 
On the men's side, No. 2 Pratt will take on No. 3 Neumann in one semifinal as No. 1 Marymount battles No. 4 Marywood in the other. Both semifinals will start at 4:00 PM. The winners will get together on Sunday at 4:00 PM in the championship.
 
James Leuzzi will lead the Knights with a 7-4 singles record and a doubles record of 2-1. Anthony Carpinella is 6-4 in singles and is 5-4 in doubles while Trevor Lodge is 5-2 in singles and 3-1 in doubles.
 
In their only regular season meeting, the Knights were narrowly defeated by Pratt up in Flushing, N.Y. by a final score of 4-3.
 
This year the winner of the divisional portion of the tournament will advance to the Atlantic East Championship hosted at Hershey Racquet Club on Sunday, May 4th. They will face the crossover champion from the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference associate member institutions.
